Mr. William B. Harris, BA, MBA
Chairman Mr. Harris brings a wealth of experience growing public companies. He is presently a partner of Solo Management Group, LLC, an investment and management consulting firm. During Mr. Harris's 30+ year career, he has held several noteworthy roles. Mr. Harris was previously a board member for Golden Predator Mines Inc. and Energy Metals Corporation, a Chairman and Executive Committee member of the American Fiber Manufacturers Association, and the former President and CEO of Hoechst Fibers Worldwide, a company involved in the global acetate and polyester business of Hoechst AG. At Hoechst Fibers Worldwide, Mr. Harris managed the business' $5 billion operation, comprising 21,000 employees and production locations in 14 different countries. Within Hoechst AG and its subsidiaries, Mr. Harris held various positions which included being Chairman of Grupo Celanese S.A., a publicly traded company in Mexico with sales in excess of $1 billion, and the roles of VP Finance, CFO, Executive VP and Director of Celanese Canada Inc., a publicly-traded company in Canada. He was also VP, Treasurer and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Hoechst Celanese Corporation. Mr. Harris has a BA in English from Harvard College an MBA in Finance from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
Mr. George Putnam, MBA (Finance)
President, CEO and Director Mr. Putnam has extensive mining industry experience, having worked for over 20 years for BHP (now BHP-Billiton) and GE/Utah International. While at BHP, he held division Chief Financial Officer roles in the petroleum refining business, and in BHP Manganese, an ore mining, ferro-alloy smelting and battery-grade refining business, located in Australia, serving global markets. His previous experience includes acquisition and divestiture work for both BHP and other clients, associated bank financings, and the negotiation and management of strategic alliances involving multiple long-term product sales contracts. Most recently, Mr. Putnam was CFO for QGX Ltd., a TSX-listed exploration company sold in September 2008 to Kerry Holdings Ltd. of Hong Kong for C$259M. While at QGX, he played key roles in the development and valuation of QGX's mineral properties, and in supporting the corporate sale. Mr. Putnam has a BA (Economics) from Gettysburg College, and an MBA (Finance) from Duke University.
Mr. Willem P C Duyvesteyn, MSc, Suma cum Laude
Chief Technology Officer, Director Mr. Duyvesteyn has more than 40 years of experience in the mining, mineral and energy industries. He is the founder and former CEO of TTS, a company involved in the development and commercialization of various mineral and energy related processes and projects. TTS was acquired by Scandium International in 2009. Prior to forming TTS, Mr. Duyvesteyn was Vice President and General Manager Minerals Technology for BHP (now BHP-Billiton) for more than 10 years. Prior to BHP, he was associated with AMAX Inc., previously a NYSE listed corporation, as director of Laterite Nickel projects where he led various multi-million dollar development programs for nickel technology. While employed with Anglo American he was a member of the team that developed the large scale copper solvent extraction technology that is now universally employed by copper miners. Mr. Duyvesteyn is a member of numerous technical organizations in the mining, processing and chemical fields: AIME and CIM. His technical expertise covers a very large spectrum of elements, metals and materials: from aluminum to zinc and from coal to diamonds. Mr. Duyvesteyn was a former Dean of the Delft (the Netherlands) School of Mines. He has been granted over 40 US patents and is filing applications for a further 35 patents. He is the author of numerous technical papers and in 1999 was awarded the Goldfields Medal of the British Institution for Mining and Metallurgy for best technical paper.
Mr. Peter B. Evensen
Director Mr. Peter B. Evensen retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of Teekay Corporation in January 2017 after joining Teekay in 2003 as Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer. He was appointed Executive Vice President in 2004 and was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer in 2006. In April 2011, he became a Teekay director and assumed the position of President and Chief Executive Officer. Until his retirement, Mr. Evensen also served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer and a director of Teekay GP L.L.C. following its IPO in 2005 and as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer and a director of Teekay Offshore GP L.L.C following its IPO in 2006 as well as a director of Teekay Tankers Ltd. from October 2007 until June 2013 and again from June 2015 to January 2017. Mr. Evensen has over 30 years of experience in banking and shipping finance. Prior to joining Teekay, Mr. Evensen was Managing Director and Head of Global Shipping at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and worked in other senior positions for its predecessor firms for over 20 years. His international industry experience includes positions in Vancouver, New York, London and Oslo.
Mr. R. Christian Evensen
Director Mr. Christian Evensen is the founding partner of Flintridge Capital Investments. He has spent his career structuring and managing corporate, derivative and real estate investments and their underlying financing of these investments. Prior to the formation of Flintridge in 2006, Mr. Evensen was a founder (in 1990) and Managing Partner of Canyon Capital Advisors LLC (which managed over $10 billion of hedge funds, separate accounts and collateralized debt obligations) and Canyon Capital Reality Advisors LLC (which managed over $1 billion of real estate funds and separate investments), both SEC registered investment advisors. He was also President of Canyon Partners Incorporated, a NASD broker-dealer. During the 1980s, Mr. Evensen was a Senior Vice President and Director of the Senior Debt and International Markets Groups in the High Yield Bond Department of Drexel Burnham Lambert. Prior to working for Drexel, Mr. Evensen was a Vice President of the Currency and Interest Rate Derivatives Group at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Evensen began his career at The Bank of New York and First Interstate Bank where he focused on financings in Asia and derivative transactions. Mr. Evensen is trustee of Johns Hopkins Medicine, a board member of Johns Hopkins Medicine International and chairman of the Johns Hopkins Prostate Cancer Advisory Board. Mr. Evensen is a board member of the Prostate Cancer Foundation and chairs the Discovery and Translation Committee and the Development Committee of the Board.
Mr. Warren K. Davis
Director Mr. Davis has held numerous senior roles in both minerals and engineering industries, with a focus on energy development, project marketing and business strategy. Mr. Davis currently provides consulting services for Parsons Brinckerhoff Power and ClearFuels Technology, Inc. His previous positions include roles with Black & Veach (15 years), the Bechtel Group (three years), and General Electric Company (10 years). Mr. Davis also worked for Utah International Inc. (seven years) in the minerals industry, specifically in acquisitions and strategy. He was founder and president of Golden Bear Energy Services, a start-up energy company, and has worked in numerous entrepreneurial energy development roles. Mr. Davis has a BS in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Stanford University.
Mr. Barry Davies
Director Mr. Davies is a mining engineer with over 30 years of engineering, operations, commercial and corporate management experience in the minerals industry. He is currently President of an Asia based private investment company with diverse holdings in junior mineral exploration companies active in Asia, Latin America and Canada, and is a director of several public and private companies.His previous positions include President and CEO of a Canadian coal mining company with more than 500 employees and annual revenues in excess of $100 million. For more than 20 years, he worked with the BHP Group as Vice President, Strategic Planning and Development for BHP Minerals, Australia.
Mr. James R. Rothwell
Director Mr. Rothwell has held numerous senior management roles and board positions in Canadian public mining companies, including Chairman of Shore Gold Inc. and Kensington Resources Ltd., Board Director for Motapa Diamonds Inc. and President, CEO and Director of Inca Pacific Resources and Dia Met Minerals Ltd. Prior to these Canadian company positions, he served for 27 years with Utah International and BHP in a number of business roles in the US, Canada, Brazil and Australia. With BHP, Mr. Rothwell's operational experience included thermal coal, iron ore, coking coal, manganese, diamonds, and the leadership of the BHP Minerals marketing effort worldwide. His role as President, BHP Diamonds saw him lead BHP into the diamond industry in 1997, via development of the EKATI Diamond Mine in NWT, Canada, from mine construction (C$1Bn) through commissioning to operation. Jim was instrumental in the formation of an independent marketing channel for diamonds in Antwerp. He has served on minerals industry associations in Australia, the USA and Canada. Jim has a BA (Economics) and an MBA (Finance/Accounting) from Stanford University.
Mr. Andrew C. Greig
Director Mr. Greig has 35 years of experience in the mining and natural resource industry with Bechtel Group Inc., a global engineering, construction and project management company. Mr. Greig has held numerous positions with Bechtel, most recently as SVP and Global Manager of Human Resources. Mr. Greig served on the Bechtel Board as a Director and was President of the Mining and Metals Global Business Unit, centered in Brisbane, Australia for 13 years, prior to his HR role. He brings direct experience in developing minerals, resource, power, refining, and chemical projects in 20 countries across six continents. A resident of Australia, Mr. Greig earned a graduate diploma in business from Monash University, Melbourne.
